SS Ayrfield Shipwreck

December 29, 2015January 12, 2016 scott

Homebush Bay was previously home to ship breakers, & several hulls are still visible.

The most accessible is that of SS Ayrfield (previously SS Corrimal).

These were taken in the morning, however I’ll have to revisit in the twilight later this week.

Alaska, you steal our hearts every single time. ❤️ Alaska, you steal our hearts every single time. ❤️🏔️

No two visits are ever the same—the light shifts, the wildlife surprises us, and the glaciers reveal something new. Watching a glacier calve is unforgettable: a thunderous crack echoes across the water as a massive wall of ancient ice breaks away and crashes into the sea, sending waves rolling outward.

This is why we keep coming back. ❄️💙
